Art is everywhere you look — all you have to do is see it. I spend my time trying to capture those moments: the constant beauty of the natural world, the madness of human nature, the magic of the every day. Some days that means travelling light on a plein air mission. Other days it means the studio, the pottery wheel, or wherever the work takes me.

About Karl Eddy Art
I'm Karl Eddy, an artist based on the Sapphire Coast of NSW. I've been making art for as long as I can remember, working across many different mediums over the years. These days I mainly paint landscapes in ink.
Most of the current work is made outdoors. I sit somewhere in nature with paper, ink and a few brushes, and paint whatever's in front of me. Most pieces are small-format and made in a single sitting. Travel is a big part of the practice too, and the work on this site includes paintings from a lot of places well beyond home.
Ink is my primary medium because of the freedom it gives me as a creator and the convenience of being able to travel light on plein air trips.
The body of work on this site covers several decades of practice. Earlier work in different styles and mediums sits alongside the current landscapes. Much of it is available in the shop, and the rest is kept in the archive as a record of how the work has evolved.
Many of the works have a story attached, which you can read by clicking on the painting. They're a bit of fun, and another way to enjoy the site.
