The second and more refined studio study of a stretch of Tantawangalo Creek. This beautiful bend in the river was striking — granite boulders covered in lichens, moss and orchids and whatever else could find a foothold. The black trunks left by the 2020 bushfires give the forest depth, their presence a quiet reminder of resilience. Through it all flows the pure tannin-stained water — liquid gold — reflecting and absorbing the colours of everything above and below its surface.
