Lifecycle of a banksia in Little Desert
$280.00
Year - 2026 · Size - 30 x 23 cm / 11¾ x 9 in · Medium - Ink on paper
When I arrived at Little Desert I was disappointed to find it mostly closed due to recent fire damage. Since there was no one around I thought it couldn't hurt to have a little explore of the charred country — a perfect muse. The result was this quiet study of a dead banksia, a victim of the fire, and its gorgeous babies springing from the ground beneath it, eager to fill the blackened graveyard with life.
