In my late teens and early twenties I had the privilege of spending a good chunk of my summer holidays at Killiekrankie on Flinders Island in Bass Strait. It was a deeply productive period of artmaking that really cemented ink as my medium of choice. This sketch tries to capture what it would feel like to be a sea eagle soaring over Killiekrankie Bay — the iconic mountain behind, the ocean below, the wind under your wings.
