On a warm summer morning, as the dew was still drying, I found myself bumping down an overgrown track along the edge of Erie Lake in BC. It was one of those tracks that gets thinner and less like a track the further you go, with no room to turn around — my kind of track. Eventually I found a spot where the Wicked Camper could manage a ten-point turn, which seemed like a sign. Time to explore.

Following a little path through the conifers I found the lake in all its morning glory. Stashed in the reeds was a fine old canoe, so I borrowed it, paddled out into the open water, and painted this.
